Millstone River School Science Fair
Saturday April 13th 8:30AM-11:30AM
Registration deadline is April 5th!
Calling all young scientists! It's time for the Millstone River School annual science fair! All students are encouraged to participate by working on a science project at home and displaying it proudly at the fair for the world to see. Below are the basic guidelines.
While at the fair be sure to check out the Earth Dome, a 19 feet high globe used to educate students about geography and environmental issues.
Register to participate.
All young scientists wishing to display a project at the fair must register in advance through this online form. We strongly encourage early registration to reserve your space. Space is limited. Deadline to register is April 5, 2013. No exceptions!!!!!
Projects should be student driven.
Project ideas should come from the students and the projects should be driven by them. Parents should use their best judgement in deciding to get involved, such as when there is a potential safety issue. It is important for kids to be able to call their project their own. Students should be able to explain their project at the fair.
***No live animals, open flames or hazardous chemicals allowed. Students will not be permitted to participate in the fair if these guidelines are not adhered to.
No exceptions***
Working with someone else.
Students may work independently or with a partner who is a student at Millstone River School, for example a classmate or sibling (up to four people is acceptable).
Need help choosing a topic?
When it comes to choosing a topic, sky's the limit! What have you wondered about? The best topics come from your own genuine curiosity about how something works or why something is the way it is. Here are some websites to gather information from:

Judging and awards.
Our science fair is non-competitive, as our goal is simply to encourage scientific exploration and discovery and promote a deep lifelong passion for science. Each participant will receive a medal.
Volunteers needed.
A big event like this would not be possible without numerous volunteers. We have all kinds of different jobs that need to be done, so if you can spare on hour or two on the day of the fair we could use your help! Thanks for your support!
